Documents Required for International Shipping

Shipping items internationally from India requires clear, precise documentation to pass customs clearance at both origin and destination ports. Having incomplete or incorrect paperwork is the #1 reason packages are delayed. Use our checklist to ensure your shipment is fully compliant.

1. KYC (Know Your Customer) Documents

For security, the Government of India requires proof of identity and address for all outbound shippers. Acceptable KYC documents include:

  • • Aadhaar Card copy
  • • Passport copy
  • • Voter ID card copy
  • • PAN Card (required for tax declarations)

2. Commercial Invoice / Packing List

All international shipments require a **Commercial Invoice** (even if the item is a personal gift or sample). The invoice must detail:

  • • Complete shipper and receiver address details.
  • • Itemized description of each product inside the box.
  • • Harmonized System (HS) codes for each item.
  • • Declared value and currency.

3. Custom Declarations

Specific items (like electronics containing batteries, FDA-regulated goods, or wooden crafts) require dedicated declaration forms indicating compliance with safety standards.
